Coldplay and Beastie Boys at OSHEAGA 2009!

MONTREAL, March 31 /CNW Telbec/ – Gillett Entertainment Group presents the 4th edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival that will take place in the park on August 1st and 2nd. Osheaga is proud to announce that the headliners for this year’s edition are the multi-platinum selling band Coldplay on Saturday, August 1st and hip-hop pioneers Beastie Boys on Sunday, August 2nd.

Osheaga is one of only two North American festival appearances that Coldplay will make this year. 2008 Grammy Award winners Coldplay continue to take the world by storm while touring on the wings of their high-soaring album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends which included a visit to a sold out Bell Centre on July 20th. We are extremely happy to welcome them to the Osheaga grounds on August 1st!

The Beastie Boys will bring their one of a kind lyrical and musical wizardry to headline Osheaga’s second day on the island Sunday, August 2nd. Montreal fans got their last dose of the Beasties’ funk at the Metropolis and at the Bell Centre on back-to-back nights in September 2007. Don’t miss these musical trailblazers rock Osheaga as they tear through over 25 years of hits!

Here are a few of the artists that will be on stage (other bands will be confirmed shortly):
COLDPLAY – BEASTIE BOYS – JASON MRAZ – THE ROOTS – RUFUS WAINWRIGHT – GIRL TALK – THE DECEMBERISTS – CRYSTAL CASTLES – LYKKE LI – BEAST – ELBOW – ARCTIC MONKEYS – THE TING TINGS – WINTER GLOVES – THE HONEY BROTHERS – JOSH RITTER – PARLOVR – KITTY DAISY AND LEWIS – LE VOLUME ETAIT AU MAXIMUM – MOTHERS FATHERS…
